Our follow‑up of your compensation claim

Follow-up of your compensation claim

Here you will find information about how we follow up your compensation claim.

We have more than 30 years of experience with personal injury cases, including workplace injuries, traffic injuries and patient injuries.

Telephone consultation

Your case often begins with a telephone call with us, during which we carry out a brief review of the matter and provide a preliminary assessment. We then contact the insurance company and obtain the case documents.

Engagement agreement

We send you a standard engagement agreement, information letter, questionnaire, etc. We place great emphasis on informing you before the assignment begins about any costs you may incur, so that there are no surprises along the way.

Meeting

After we have received the case documents, we contact you to arrange a meeting where we go through the case in more detail, answer questions and inform you about the further process and your rights. If you are seriously injured, we can arrange a meeting at your home. We agree on the next steps and what needs to be done.

Insurance policies

Many people have insurance policies that may apply in the event of an accident. It is therefore important to clarify which policies you have and to notify the insurance companies, so that you are entitled to late‑payment interest and your claim does not become time‑barred.

Compensation claim

If you have suffered loss of income or incurred expenses as a result of the injury, we calculate the loss and submit a claim. We obtain the necessary documentation from your employer and others in order to calculate and document your loss of earnings.

Public benefits

In cases of serious injuries (multiple trauma), it is our task to assist in clarifying which benefits you are entitled to from public authorities.

National Insurance Scheme

We ensure that the necessary applications for rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation are submitted to the National Insurance Scheme. If questions or issues arise in relation to social security matters, we can assist you if you wish.

Medical specialist

If the injury has not healed after 2–3 years, it is necessary to obtain a specialist medical report. It is important to choose a specialist who makes a correct assessment of the injury. We handle what is required in connection with ordering the report, selecting the specialist and gathering documentation for the specialist.

Final compensation claim to the insurance company

Once we have obtained a specialist report, we usually have a basis for preparing a final compensation claim. This includes compensation for past and future loss of earnings, expenses and any compensation for permanent impairment, among other items. After preparing a draft, we send it to you and review it together before it is submitted.

Negotiations with the insurance company

After submitting a final compensation claim, we normally receive a written offer from the insurance company. A negotiation meeting is then held with the opposing party. The negotiation outcome is sent to you and reviewed together, either by telephone or in a meeting. We answer your questions and provide our assessments and advice. The offer must be considered against what you could achieve through court proceedings. We also inform you about the costs and risks associated with litigation.

Acceptance

Our role is to provide you with professional advice on what you should do. It is you who decides whether to accept the offer or not.

Court proceedings

If we are unable to reach an agreement with the insurance company, the alternative is to bring the case before the courts. In that event, we must clarify the costs and risks involved.
